wind fields

while this is a captivating scene to see at night, with red lights blinking seemingly mid-air in sync, i find it moving and somewhat majestic during daylight.  drive from indy to chicago sometime and check it out.

february thaw

every year, it seems like february teases us with a week of warm weather.  and though i know it will snow again, it still gives me hope for spring.  during the 40 degree warmth last week, michelle and i went wandering and shooting.  it’s always nice to explore with another photographer.  and it’s intriguing to see our unique point of views.  check out her’s here.

i’ve always wanted to be a gypsy

two summers ago i participated in this gypsy wagon parade.  ’twas a splendid event.  do you recognize the spirit of freedom, love, and simplicity from this post i made in september?  yep, same lovely people.  and again i fall in love with grand rapidians who are claiming that such beauty and hope is possible in the world.

the polaroid project

when i lived in france i started an art piece where i created polaroid looking images and taped them around the city.  when i moved back it continued… becoming a part of my thesis work and daily life.  the work revolves around hope and finding it in our everyday life.  what gives you hope?

unfortunately i lost momentum and the project fell by the wayside.  alas, i am in a terrible winter funk and i need something hopeful and adventurous.  it only makes sense to start again!

check out the project at polaroidcommunity.blogspot.com/ and hopefully it will be in full swing soon!

morning coffee

i quite enjoyed my madcap in this mug that my friend matt gave me.  he’s thinking of beginning to sell his ceramics.  don’t you think he should?
