i sat at the coffee shop for a while before this image taunted me enough to make me get my camera from the car.  i couldn’t leave it behind.  sure glad i didn’t.

bree and chad will be married tomorrow! we had a mini session this week- a little get away in the woods before the big day.  i cannot wait to celebrate with them this weekend!

weeping beech

walking under the branches of a weeping beech tree is like stepping into a fairy tale.

cari and jay

while in grand rapids this week, i was able to spend the afternoon with a beautiful couple.  cari is my longest friend- we’ve known each other since third grade, and jay came around many years later.  cari and i shared years of climbing trees and spying on neighbors.  somehow that grew into loving bikes and good food and growing things.  i deeply cherish this couple who never hesitate to open their home to anyone needing a safe place or listening ear.  thanks for loving so well, dear friends.  i love you!

citizens gas

i don’t really know what happened to this place, but i’ve heard whispers of some kind.  i’d really like to get the story and maybe even get inside the fence.
