heather and shane

look at this lovely couple!  i was pleased to take a trip to michigan to photograph heather and shane’s wedding.  the setting was shane’s parent’s property amidst fields of wild flowers and corn.  they set out yard games, bubbles and even giant jenga!  it was a joyous occasion with perfect late summer weather and family and friends who were obviously delighted to celebrate this marriage.  congratulations, friends!

oranje

i’ve been doing a bit of work for NUVO, a weekly newspaper featuring the ins and outs of indianapolis happenings.  on saturday i got to cover oranje, an interactive art and music experience that happens once a year.  the energy, music, color, and diversity of the night was stimulated by lots of awesome creativity packed into one warehouse.  there were djs, bands, light shows, fashion design competition, photobooths, 2d art, food trucks, beer… and lots of people.

food truck fest

when i moved to indianapolis a year ago, there was one known food truck.  now there are enough to fill a big parking lot and call it a festival.  while i was really disappointed with the event (i still don’t understand why one can’t bring a camera into a parking lot…), i still think it’s fantastic how many new things are happening in the city.  keep on growing, dear indy.

closet light

i was supposed to get a bunch of work done this afternoon, but i finally had to admit defeat.  so i took a nap and when i awoke this is what i saw: my closet.  the pattern and light struck me differently than usual.

wind

a couple of boys passed by as i photographed this scene.  they looked at me curiously and asked what i was taking pictures of.  ”the wind” i replied.  i didn’t realize until a few minutes later that this may sound strange.  you can’t see the wind.  but it was the subject of my work that day.
